Have you reflected or written any on how being "post-literary" as a culture will or should affect our approaches to Christian education on the church level? Is there some value or importance to making the church itself a place where people are brought into a subculture of reading?
Yes, I have. I have written very little yet. But it will involve, IMO, at least two things: (1) we need to reevaluate our introductory advice to new believers—they might need help to know HOW to read the Bible at a literary level. (2) We should be people of the book, a sort of resistance culture to world in which we allow for patient, slow, and communal reading to be central—become Bereans, more or less. And connected to this, we should pay CLOSE attention to the public reading of Scripture.
I’m glad you’re not giving up on YouTube. Still need to document yours and Gavin Ortlund’s workflows and put them in the hands as many of your peers as possible. I hope to be able to start some YouTube stuff later in the fall but we need all the help we can get here.
Wyatt, you have my continued support. I appreciate your content and how it informs and instructs. Blessings for the New Year.
Thank you so much, Brad. It's so kind of you to say/do.
