Historically, Baptists have affirmed (1) a believer’s church, (2) believer’s baptism, and, because of the prior two points, (3) a congregation of visible saints in association with one another.
The 9Marks within me is just jumping up and down screaming “YES!!!” When you connected regenerate church membership with the practice of church discipline, especially in the usage of Church Covenants.
Wyatt, I will have to spend more time studying this, but you are doing great work. I do have one question about the primacy of Scripture though: Would you say that Baptists and other Protestants all uphold Scripture to the same degree?
Thanks, I intend to keep studying this subject, especially Baptist history books. I honestly am not as certain that we can conclude that Baptists and other Protestant have always held Scripture in the same regard, in a consistent manner, but I am thankful for your thoughts and insight on this.
Listening/will read more in depth later but so glad more Baptist works are being published on Substack! Thanks dude!
You are welcome!

Thanks for this Wyatt. I referenced your piece on "Where Do Baptists Come From?" in my latest Substack article. I appreciate your good work.
Thanks, Steve!
