Hi there,

You sir describe what video games can do as well as books. The only difference is, work has to be put in to make a good story. I have read books that are weak in comparison AND have people to talk about video games. Sadly, when I do come across people to talk about a book or two, it's usually an argument about their own version of the story. It's like a democrat vs a republican argument. It gets me nowhere except headaches.

I only read articles, and yes, I have learned life lessons from video games. You failed to mention that there are some video games that focus on stories over gameplay. I enjoy this hobby as well as its own educational purposes (depending on the game). I prefer games over books. I can't seem to capture a story out of books but boredom and linear stories unless it's an article online and made very short.

Have a good day.
